REFLECTION

PROJECT 1A:

In physical collage, I learned that collage is a very important part of design. I searched online and found out that it is divided into emotional collage, subject collage, historical collage and other types. We need to convey information through collage elements. When making collage, we need to prepare various materials and make clear the ideas we want to express. Then we can design the layout. I learned from the physical collage section that collage is not a simple patchwork of elements, but it is necessary to express ideas and information through patchwork elements. This is also a problem that needs to be considered in design. Design is not just for the sake of beauty, but it is necessary to consider what kind of ideas you want to express before designing.

In the digital collage section, we need to use some tools in PS such as the pen tool and the quick selection tool. The most important thing is that we need to use the Color Filter in the collage to change the color to achieve amazing results. I think the quick selection tool, the magic wand tool and the lasso tool can be used in the cutout at the same time. I think these tools are more suitable for cutouts because they are faster. In the Color Filter, the biggest difficulty for me is color adjustment, how to make the color not form a huge contrast with the color in real life, and at the same time make the picture more colorful. So after many modifications and attempts, I finally achieved a satisfactory effect.

PROJECT 1B:

For project 2, I think it is more interesting than project 1. It allows us to master and use various tools in PS more proficiently and learn how to use the color adjustment tools in PS to make the picture more natural after adding elements that do not belong to the picture. I think Recoloring Black & White is the most interesting section for me. At first, when I watched the tutorial video, I thought it was difficult. Because I always thought that selecting hair in PS, but after following the video step by step, I learned this technique. Later, I found that the most difficult thing in the recoloring process is to find the color that best matches the real world and the photo scene. So I searched a lot of pictures as references for my exercise 3. And in the recoloring process, choosing the right color does not make the photo real. We need to add light and shadow details little by little, and emphasize the light and dark in the picture, so that it conforms to the laws of the real world, so that the picture looks natural.
