Design Principle:Final Compilation
|
• What have I learnt in this module?
In this module, I learned design principles that I had never been exposed to before. In the last semester, I just thought about how to make the design look good, and I didn’t know what tools to use. In this semester, I had the opportunity to learn in depth. At the same time, when encountering difficulties, searching for pictures and websites related to design principles on the Internet for research and analysis is a good way. Trying and experiencing this design principle in PS and AI will give you a deeper understanding. Visual analysis is also a very important skill I have learned.
• What did I enjoy the most?
After I learned the relevant knowledge of design principles through my own in-depth research, I was able to apply them reasonably in the design. For example, in the final design, I needed to add two new elements with a relatively large proportion. At first, I chose to put them all on the right side. After I finished, I found that this would cause the overall imbalance of the picture, so I started to research and search for composition methods. I found the method of diagonal composition and studied it in depth to understand how to place elements to form a diagonal composition on the picture, and tried it in PS, and finally achieved my ideal effect.
• What did I not enjoy the most?
There are many design principles that need to be remembered. At the beginning of the semester, I often need to review them carefully because I can't remember the design principles. The three stages of visual analysis are complicated for me in the early stage of learning. I need to do a lot of research and look at a lot of photos to learn so that I can understand the meaning behind these principles faster. These tasks are boring and the workload is relatively large. But when I have completed these understandings, I feel very accomplished.
• What have I learnt about myself through this module?
•Sometimes I am not patient and may be lazy in details, but later I found that all the lazy places will be made up later. So, I learned that details need to be handled everywhere, and I must not think about being lazy. Sometimes, when changing the picture, sometimes the consideration point is not from the design principle, but how to make the picture more beautiful. I need to correct this. When designing, I need to always keep in mind the original intention and figure out my goal. Design is purposeful.
• What has changed and what has not in my learning journey?
•Obviously, I have become more meticulous in this process. The interpretation of the picture is more profound. Compared to before, when I just pursued good looks, I can now clearly understand why some images and compositions can give viewers a good visual experience.
• What are my aspirations?
I hope that in my future studies, I can use the knowledge I have learned to create designs with better visual experience. |
